34 Injured as Tractor-Trolley Overturns in Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj
Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh: A tragic accident occurred in the Ganjdundwara area of Kasganj district, where a tractor-trolley overturned, injuring 34 people. The mishap took place on Wednesday as the passengers were returning from the ‘Ganga Snan’ ritual, a holy dip in the Ganges.
No Critical Injuries Reported
As per Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rajesh Kumar Bharti, the accident occurred when the tractor-trolley got uncontrolled and it overturned. Fortunately, there were no fatal injuries, and all the injured passengers were directly transferred to Ganjdundwara CHC for medical treatment.
“In the Ganjdundwara PS jurisdiction, people.returned after the ‘Ganga Snan. Their tractor-trolley lost control and overturned. 34 people have been injured in the incident. No one is in a critical condition,” ASP Bharti told ANI.
Authorities Respond & Investigation Underway
Local samitis, such as the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and the Circle Officer (CO), immediately appeared at the scene of the accident and tried to adjudicate the situation. To ascertain the exact factor leading to the accident and whether a negligence has occurred, an exhaustive investigation has been carried out.

Frequent Accidents in the Region
This incident highlights ongoing road safety concerns in Kasganj. In December 2024, a similar accident occurred when a tractor collided with a pickup truck carrying passengers returning from a marriage ceremony. At that incident 26 ppl were injured, which has thrown doubts upon road safety statutes and enforcement.
Due to this incident, authorities are now calling for stringent traffic safety guidelines to avoid such accidents in the future.
