In the course of the operation, police seized two AK-series rifles and two gun glocks. Punjab Police named the three individuals as part of Khalistan Zindabad Force module backed by Pakistan. This group is accused of recent grenade attacks on places belonging to the police in Punjab frontier zones.
Punjab Police chief, DGP Gaurav Yadav in a press briefing on X acknowledged the groups role in helping the Gurdaspur police post grenade attack and said that further inquiries are being conducted to reveal the whole module. Uttar Pradesh DGP Prashant Kumar hailed the operation as a ‘daredevil’ and stressed the excellent cooperation of both state police contingents.
The meeting comes in the backdrop of string of violence on police stations in Punjab. The week that followed three mishaps took place involving explosion at Islam Abad police station in Amritsar and Bakshiwall police post in Gurdaspur. There were no fatalities in these cases but Khalistan Zindabad Force mentioned in an unclear social media post that they had been responsible.
The terrorists, ighbours said, were in Pilibhit-700 km away, hiding in areas having a sizeableSikh population. On the other hand, citizens aided the police in fast eradication of the suspects as they wholly supported the operation.
Law enforcement agencies are still probing to neutralise the terror module and to avoid any more incidents.
