Former MP BJP while targeting the opposition during a press conference held on Thursday blamed the opposition INDIA bloc after a ruckus was created in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly over Article 370.

Irani addressed the journalists after a ruckus broke out in the assembly when Khurshid Ahmad Sheikh, an Awami Ittehad Party MLA and brother of Engineer Rashid, unfurled a banner supporting the return of Article 370. Such aggressive protests the opposition provoked the Speaker to adjourned the house briefly while BJP members responded to favour recent passed resolution for special status for Jammu and Kashmir.

The opposition by BJP members was very vocal, as they condemned the motion using their words in the assembly.

He also questioned Congress and INDIA bloc leadership on the status of the tribal people of the J & K after the removal of Article 370. “That was good seen in yesterday’s resolution; Congress and the INDIA alliance in particular has tactfully supported extremism and terrorism,” she stated.

Labelling assembly’s move as an attack on the minorities, women and the lower castes, Irani said “BJP and the people of India will not allow the Constitution to be subverted.” She said that, scenes in Jammu and Kashmir are, in fact, blow to the constitutional rights of Dalits, tribals, and women, and further stated its commitment to unity and constitutionalism of the country.
