Pushpa 2 star Allu Arjun was grilled for more than three hours on Tuesday by the Hyderabad police probing a tragic stampede that shook the Sandhya Theatre while his blockbuster movie was on. The accident led to the death of a 35-year-old woman and the child, who was taken to the hospital, was only eight years old.
Accompanied by his father, Allu Aravind, and legal counsel, Allu Arjun arrived at the Chikkadpally police station around 11 am and was questioned until 2:45 pm by a team led by Central Zone DCP Akshansh Yadav.The attack was reported at 45 pm yesterday by a team led by Central Zone DCP Akshansh Yadav. Several measures were however put in place to control congestion and security around the police station; among them being; restriction of traffic and persons within the station vicinity.
The notice was given to Allu Arjun on December 23 that his appearance was required to help the investigation. The actor was requested to give additional information of the stampede incident and, if necessary, attend the place of the sad event to assist the investigation.
Earlier, a video by Police Commissioner C.V. Anand explained the happenings that occurred before the stampede that happened this December 4. In the subsequent phase, the Chikkadpally police lodges a complaint case 274 against Allu Arjun, its security team, and the theatre management under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita on the side of the dead woman family members.
Accused 11, the Telugu actor Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13. But the same day, the Telangana High Court produced him four weeks interim bail, and he was released on 14th December.
The actor has also pledged his full cooperation on the probe. Police was deployed at his Jubilee Hills residence as a safety precautionary measure during the course of the event. The case is still open, and all circumstances of the incident are being investigated and analyzed.
