Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai has come down heavily on Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy regarding the continuing police movement against Telugu superstar Allu Arjun. Annamalai said that Reddy was using the matter only for a political agenda, the CM seems to be behaving like a bigger superstar than Allu Arjun. He further alleged that some of the people, who stormed the residence of the actor Allu Arjun belong to Reddy’s constituency and claimed that they have a political angle.
Annamalai was angry at what was done to Allu Arjun, and said, “It is wrong to victimise and to bully someone.” Such a tragedy, did Allu Arjun plan for it? Instead,…it depicts bullying as not being the solution.
Allu Arjun is questioned for a stampede accident at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre during the release show of *Pushpa 2* on December 4 and in which one woman aged 35 died and her eight-year-old son was injured. Hyderabad police called the actor for interrogation on December 23, and he was interrogated for more than 3 hours.
The case that has been filed at Chikkadpally police station is between Allu Arjun, his security team and the theatre management. This sequence of events was released by Police Commissioner C.V. Anand on a video that showed the circumstances that led to the tragedy. Arjun, named accused No 11, was arrested on December 13, but obtained a temporary bail from the Telengana High Court on December 14.
Further fuel to the fire, members of Osmania University-Joint Action Committee attacked Arjun’s house and pelted him with tomatoes thereby damaging his home. Aruna DK, BJP MP alleged that 4 of the accused were from Reddy’s Kodangal constituency and were influenced by the Congress party.
As a mark of encouragement, the producers of Pushpa 2 donated Rs 50 lakh for the deceased woman’s family. It remains a hot political and public issue for discussion.
