’Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ vs ‘Singham Again’ – The race between the two movies has turned interesting with Kartik Aaryan starrer ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ set to surpass Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Singham Again’. Zion has mentioned that both films premiered on November 1 and although it took the audience with it, the competition has reached quite an interesting stage as weeks go by.
First, Rohit Shetty’s “Singham Again” seized the initiative by posting a better opening weekend that puts it at the head of the box office contenders. It [Bollywood’s domination] was manifest through cult favourite Ajay Devgn, who played a realistic cop free from the fear of the enemy, thus adding to the movie success especially within the Mumbai circuit. But as the days went on it was Kartik Aaryan ‘s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ that stood its ground and started pulling closer. By the first week, the horror-comedy was making more than what the other movie made in a day.
Looking at the business done by the third Saturday, “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3” had done an excellent business of around Rs 4.75 crore as against Rs 3.25 crore of the “Singham Again.” This has taken the gross total of “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3” upto Rs 225.15 crore and it is trailing behind the Rs 226.5 crore collected by Devgn’s film, as per data of Sacnilk. As for the Sunday collections they are still waiting, there is a big possibility, relatively rocking movie of Aaryan might overtake the rest.
The Rohit Shetty directed “Singham Again” has received continuing patronage from the Mumbai sensitiveness where action pictures have always done well. But the large public awareness of “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3” has meant that the movie was able to gather pace and momentum outside Mumbai and is now threatening its rival.
The competition is at a time when there has been an increase in people going to cinemas due to the Diwali period. It has always been a tradition to release movies during this festive season and 2024 has not disappointed. Even the latest releases such as The Sabarmati Report, which got a good start, Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 are ruling the box office.

For now, the difference between the two films could not be any closer with just a crore’s difference between them. Everyone is eagerly waiting for the release figures of the upcoming weekend since finally “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3” might overtake “Gunday”.
This competition of these films is a good highlighting of a year of great box office performances. The highest grossing movie of 2024 thus remains Stree 2, which has beaten all records by grossing Rs 800 crores world over, Rs 598 crores of which has come from the Hindi version of this movie. This laughter fx has for sure put mark in theaters and follow up which affirm the increasing trend of horror comedy films in India.
Second on the list one the Sanjjeev Kapoor starrer ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ that is a South Indian that stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan. The Hindi version of the movie has collected Rs. 293 crore, proving that quality content with a hint of future Kinics and star values have a pan-India market.
As for now, “Singham Again” and “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3” occupy the third and the fourth places in the list of movies of 2024 hit at the worldwide box office. But for sure the two have helped these industry score such impressive results this year although they are such close rivals. Worthy of note is “Fighter” that has Hrithik Roshan in the lead; it stands fifth on this list with overall collections of 212 crore rupees and completes the list of five most successful grossing films in the year.
The box office competition has only grown over time and laughing along with different movies such as “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again” establishes the fact that the audience is very diverse and different genres do well. However, if Kartik Aaryan’s film has surpassed it, or if it has not, this stiff competition has amplified the energy of the Indian film industry, as it continues to produce all sorts of movies.
