Two naval officers had a close shave at Rama Krishna Beach of Visakhapatnam recently when the parachutists landed into each other’s cables during a rehearsal. The accident, which was in the course of Eastern Naval Command rehearsal towards a operational exercise was videotaped.
The speed they traveled increased since one had the national flag while parachutes of the two men became entangled and they both plunged into the water closer to the shores. Onlookers who had come to the beach were greatly stunned.
Luckily, a navy rescue boat came close to the scene and evacuated the officers to the shore without any form of concerning incidents.
Showcasing Naval Strength
The event planned for the next day, is meant to display the operational readiness of Indian Navy. The guest of honor for the occasion will be Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Key highlights of the demonstration include:
- High-Speed Maneuvers: Ships, submarines, and planes will conduct pinpoint actions.
- Marine Commando Displays: MARCOS will undertake amphibious assault simulation exercises, combat free-fall exercises, and slithering exercises.
- Aerial Displays: The flyer scheme will involve flying operations of fighter jets, maritime aircrafts and helicopters.
- Cultural Performances: The Eastern Naval Command band will perform the Beating Retreat Ceremony and the Sea Cadet Corps will perform the Horn Pipe Dance.
Even though the disaster that occurred during the rehearsal practice, the Indian Navy is still eager to put on a great show that inspires and brings attention to the possibility of the Indian navy for a war and its readiness and performance.
