During Basant Panchami people attended the third Amrit Snan at the Triveni Sangam sacred confluence in Prayagraj for their holy dip during Maha Kumbh 2025. A spiritual event started during the early morning of Monday drew millions of worshipers who came to bathe in the holy Triveni Sangam waters.
A Grand Spiritual Celebration at Triveni Sangam
The holy bathe was performed by Naga sadhus alongside other saints who belonged to multiple akhadas during morning hours. Sect representatives from Juna Akhada initiated their religious rites first since they were the pioneers followed by the dominant spiritual groups. Devotees together with sadhus started their spiritual practices at the ghats during early hours of 6 AM. The spiritual atmosphere received further elevation through helicopter-borne rose petals that decorated the event.
Through reports from the Uttar Pradesh Information Department it became known that at 8 AM over 62.25 lakh devotees had taken the holy dip. Total Maha Kumbh pilgrims who participated from January 13 have reached above 34.97 crore.

According to astrologers the Triveni Yog celestial configuration magnifies the sacred value of the holy dip because of which it becomes an extremely fortunate occasion.
Different religious groups followed a predefined order for their sacred water immersion according to traditional practices.
