Opposition Nationalist Congress Party led by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has come out with the first list of 38 candidates for forthcoming state Assembly polls. Pawar will fight the Baramati seat, which he has been representing for the past more than two decades. Primaries: Chhagen Bhujbal from Yeola village and Dilip Walse Patil from Ambegaon taluka.
NCP, a constituent of the Mahayuti alliance with BJP and Eknath Shinde led Shiv Sena, is likely to name 52- 54 candidates. The BJP have already declared 99 candidates while the Shinde faction has declared its’ candidates for 45 seats.

Shinde, who recently became the new Chief Minister, will contest from Kopri-Panchpakhadi assembly constituency in Thane. Other ministers belonging to the Shinde faction are Gulabrao Patil, Deepak Kesarkar, Abdul Sattar and Shambhuraj Desai will be in the poll fray from their respective segments.
The ruling alliance has repeated ticket dispensation decisions of most of those MLAs who backed Shinde in his 2022 rebellion against the former CM Uddhav Thackeray.
