Mukesh Khanna is gearing up for the avatar of the Shaktimaan again and the people who have watched the show aired on DD National in 1997 will definitely be happy. Khanna, who had been giving sneaks on social networking sites, finally came out in the open on Monday that gave a boost to the audiences.
Speaking to ANI, Khanna said that he strongly relates to the character, saying, ‘This is a costume within me… The same applies personally I believe; to me this costume has emanated from me in a sense. Theatre indeed is all about confidence. In some cases, I don’t even think about the camera when am shooting. I am even more happier than others for becoming Shaktimaan again.”

Khanna also expressed his responsibility of bringing Shaktimaan for today’s generation with these words, ” I am fulfilling my commitment which I took when I started it in 1997 and it continued till 2005. Perhaps my work should go out to the public domain in 2027 because today’s generation is acting like a headless chicken. They have to be told to halt and take a break.”
Addressing viewers’ anticipation well in advance of the official announcement, Khanna wore the iconic Shaktimaan costume. The original show, which went on air for over 450 episodes, was extremely successful and became an-engine for generations of Indians grow up with.
There were earlier buzz that the latest model to depict ‘Shaktimaan’ is the Bollywood hero Ranveer Singh. But those rumors received a clear dismissal from Mukesh Khanna, who said no casting decisions were made and announced his comeback.
By doing so, Khanna wishes to remind the viewers about Shaktimaan and shift people yet again toward the superhero’s positive message.
