President Droupadi Murmu addressed the Joint Session of Parliament on Friday inaugurating the Budget Session. She noted that the government’s third term is apace at three times the rate of those past administrations with the emphasis by the government on decisions on Waqf boards and One Nation, One Election.
Just before delivering her speech, the president paid respect to the late former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who recently passed away as well as those who perished at the Maha Kumbh.
According to the government’s achievements, Murmu has announced a large scale rollout of the scheme, health insurance to nine crore citizens above 70 years of age.
The education and employment fields have also been in focus, with the government emphasizing youth learning and manufacturing new employment opportunities.
Further, the government has also taken a decision to enlarge the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana with a view to housing another three crore families with new homes, and thus, reemphasising its resolve for housing for all.
Murmu’s speech prepared the ground for a highly charged Budget Session, highlighting the dynamism of the government in its policy decision making.
