Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana Starring Ranbir Kapoor Set for Diwali 2026

Epic adaptation of Ramayana to release in two parts, with Part 1 on Diwali 2026 and Part 2 the following year, featuring a stellar cast including Sunny Deol and Sai Pallavi.

The Ramayana that Nitesh Tiwari is making with Ranbir Kapoor in the lead as Ram, is aimed for Diwali 2026 the first part and second part of the movie is also planned to be released in Diwali 2027 announced the producer Namit Malhotra on Wednesday.

On Instagram, Malhotra said, “More than a decade ago, I set out for a mission noble to tell this epic that has ruled over billions of hearts for over 5000 years on the silver screen.” He said that the team on the production side is committed to giving back the essence and aesthetics of the Ramayana that is ‘our history, our truth and our culture – our ‘Ramayana.’

This was done hand-in-hand with an announcement poster, with one depicting a burning arrow in the sky with stars representing the magnificence and dignity the team wants the project to have. “We invite everyone to be a part of this journey to realizing our dream of creating our largest epic,” Malhotra added.

The scraping of IMDb gave the following cast: Hanuman by Sunny Deol; Sita, Sai Pallavi; Surpanakha, Rakul Preet Singh; Ravana, Yash; Kaikeyi, Lara Dutta.

Namit Malhotra and Shridhar Raghavan have written the script for the film, which will be directed by Nitesh Tiwari, who was also behind Dangal and Chhichhore. A.R. Rahman has been signed for music direction and the movie has a good photographer in Pankaj Kumar in the form of cinematography.

The Ramayana has two acts which have been devised to enthrall the international viewers with a more realistic and spectacular presentation of this timeless story, with every member of the production pull out all the stops in order to realise this goal.
